Wednesday morning thousands of voices rang out in support
of the Carbon Motors company with the Connersville Cheerleaders leading the
cheers.
Folks were elated that the company has chosen to locate
in Fayette County and that the Visteon plant will no longer sit vacant. Although
the announcement was made Wednesday, those involved advised there is still
much work to do. Carbon Motors CEO" William Santana Li announced the company
will invest $350 Million in the plant.
He said it took a lot of work to bring the plant to Connersville,
and it will take a lot more blood, sweat and tears to make
it happen.
Daniels and Li
placed a "Made in Indiana" sticker on the hood
of the police car on display at the Rally Wednesday. Li
told the crowd there are 10,000 new direct and indirect
American jobs at stake here with a $3 billion positive economic
impact on the selected region over the next ten years. For

Girl Scouts of Central Indiana awarded 33 Girl
Scout Gold Awards during the Girls of Distinction Celebration
on June 6, 2009, at the Indianapolis Marriott Down-town.
A Girl Scout from Cambridge City, Sarah Beth Mayberry, earned
the award.
Mayberry completed her project, "Kaitlynne’s
Kause," in memory of her niece, Kait-Lynne. She informed the public about
child abuse by distributing pamphlets and creating a PSA which aired on WFYI.
She also made and distributed "Good-night Bags" for children taken
out of their homes.
Mayberry is a 2009 graduate of Hagerstown Jr. /Sr. High
School. She is the daughter of the late Tony and Cindi Mayberry.
The Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest honor in Girl Scouts,
recognizes the leadership and impact a young woman can have on her community.
The Gold Award encourages girls to explore leadership, skill development, career
exploration and community service.
To earn the Girl Scout Gold Award, a girl begins by exploring
her own skills and interests while learning leadership skills, such as communication,
organization and planning. The Girl Scout then puts these skills to work by
taking action in her community through her Girl Scout Gold Award project. The
Gold Award project is a 65 hour leadership project that has a significant and
long term impact on the girl’s community.
