Public Safety Reforms to Take Effect
July 1
Indiana residents will notice a number of improvements
and changes to the state’s public safety network on
July 1.
The most drastic of those improvements is Public Law 101,
a comprehensive package sponsored by State Rep. Peggy Welch (D-Bloomington)
that eliminates distractions and disturbances often at the root of traffic
accidents caused by teen drivers.
Starting July 1, drivers under the age of 18 will be barred
from using cell phones and other telecommunications devices. During the first
six months they hold a license, teens will be restricted from driving with
passengers other than immediate family members. New nighttime driving restrictions
will also go into effect. For

Second Chances would like to thank
everyone that donated and supported our team for the Relay
for Life. Our team raised over $6,000 and had a representative
from our team on the track for the whole 24 hours. The Relay
raised $141,000 to help educate about cancer, to help funding
for more research, and ultimately, the HOPE to find the CURE.
