DIRECTV Will Start To Offer Indianapolis Locals In Wayne County (IN)

On Wednesday October 14th, 2009 DIRECTV will start providing new customers in Wayne County (Indiana) with Indianapolis local TV stations. The area has been provided with Dayton stations by DIRECTV for some time but after extensive market research, local feedback, and FCC regulatory changes, the decision was made to make the change. Indianapolis stations will be available in Standard Digital or High Definition depending on the customer’s programming options.
"This is great news for Wayne County residents", said Rick Funk of WILCO Custom Electronics, the Richmond area’s local DIRECTV expert. "DIRECTV is truly the premier product for your TV. Now, with state news and information coming from Indy, there is absolutely no comparison with cable. You get more sports, more HD, and more value for your money". He also noted that as the local dealer, he is able to provide high quality sales and customer service on a local level, something he prides himself on. "I’m right here in town," Funk said. Local Resident Severely Injured in Recent Accident

We learned this week that Ted Frost, was in a bad accident at Vevay Tuesday, September 8th. Frost was driving a company truck from his home near Cambridge City to work at a job in Kentucky for Best Air of Toledo, OH. It was a very foggy morning and he was eastbound on SR 156 following a vehicle driven by Carriane Wilhoite. As she slowed to turn onto Tapps Ridge, she saw the truck coming and knew he wasn’t going to be able to stop, so she accelerated, but was unable to get out of the way. Frost’s truck struck the rear driver’s side of her vehicle, and proceded into the westbound lane, where it hit a school bus head on, then slid through a yard of a nearby home.
Bus driver Jerry Monjar, was able to keep the bus from overturning even though there was no way to steer the bus after the collision took out the front tires. There were 36 children in the bus, most in middle school and high school. Six were transported to The King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison with minor injuries. The beautiful clock donated by Ross Jones made a pretty setting for the flowers at the mini-park.

The Flowers Are Down, But Our Appreciation Remains

The hanging baskets downtown were taken down the last week of September. Their beauty brought pride to many in the community. We are very grateful that we have so many who have given to make the project possible. Those donating money were: Wayne Bank and Trust Co.; Mary Ellen Luellen "In memory of Alma Gabbard"; Ben and Patty Hersberger; Main- Source Bank; Mick and Olevia Fowler; Bertschland; First Bank of Richmond, Dot Foods and Western Wayne News. Frank McLane donated the tubs for the flowers surrounding the clock.
A special thanks to Jill King who gave countless hours and donated fertilizer for the plants. Our thanks to all of you who made such nice comments about the flowers. Cambridge City Town Council members.
