Cambridge City Town Council Meeting

by Jenny Pugh
The Cambridge City Town Council met on Monday, October 12, at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers with town attorney, Bob Bevers present.
Hours for trick or treat were set for Saturday, October 31. Parade will begin at 5 p.m. at the old Central School, with the costume contest to follow at the Cambridge City fire station. Trick or treat will be from 6-8 p.m.
Jeff Peters, of M.D. Wessler & Assoc. updated members on the Safe Routes to School project. As a result of the documentation and research required by the federal government because the sidewalk will cross a potentially historic property, the project is expected to cost $7,000 to $12,000 more than expected. This amount is above and beyond the $250,000 grant and it will have to be paid by the town, should Cambridge City choose to proceed with the project. Attorney Bob Bever will review the project paperwork while the clerk-treasurer determines if the town can afford the project and members decide whether or not to proceed.
