Brad Richardson is Grand Marshal 2009 Canal Days Parade

Brad Richardson has been chosen as the 2009 Canal Days parade grand marshal. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1984. Shortly after graduating he started an apprenticeship for machine tool at Ahaus Tool in Richmond, Indiana. He was taught much from that job, and dreamed of starting his own business. In 1998 he and his wife, Tracie started Richardson Machine, Inc. and located it in part of the old Chore Boy building on East Church Street. They ran it there until 2005 at which time they relocated it in a new facility just south of town on Hunnicut Road. Over the years they have had as many as ten employees supporting families in the Cambridge City area. Due to Brad’s diagnosis of ALS, also known as Lou Gehrigs Disease, in 2006, the business was sold in early 2008. It does, however still operate under the same name at the same address continuing to support families in the Western Wayne area.
In 1989 Brad married Tracie Bryant who is a lifetime resident of the Western Wayne community. They have four children - Chase age 16, Kyle age 14, Leslie age 10, and Carlie age 7 who all attend Western Wayne schools. Brad and his family are active in the Cambridge City Christian Church where he has served as both Trustee and Deacon. Brad has also been a past member of the Morning Kiwanis where he served as Treasurer. For more of this story please subscribe!
