Milton Town Council Meeting
by Jenny Pugh
Milton Town Council met Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at the
Milton Christian Church, with a large crowd present.
The short council meeting began with a public hearing. Renee
Doty, of the EDC, presented an updated resolu-tion concerning the grant application
for the wastewater project. Resolution was passed and the town should learn
if and how much funding they will receive for the project in October.
Mike Myers, project engineer, updated council members on
the wastewater project. The surveyors have already been in Milton and 90% of
the design work is done. Plans will be submitted for approval within the next
few weeks. Once the project is funded and approved, the next step will be meeting
with the necessary property owners concerning easements. For

Another Successful Canal Days
By Janis Buhl
We have just finished another successful Canal Days ending
our 37th year of having this festival. Mark your calendars for next year (2010)
as it will be the weekend following Labor Day as it has always been in the
past.
With the economy in a slump and so many
out of work, we were blessed with many folks coming, spending,
enjoying their time in Cambridge City. The parade was great
and so were the spectators, cheering those in the parade.
We will put pictures
in this week, and probably more next issue as we can’t
get nearly all of them in. Thanks to Dr. Bertsch who helps
take pictures each year. A tremendous thanks to Silvia
Bowman-Hamilton and those in the Chamber for all their
work in planning the event. For
